Lake Geneva region
Bienvenue! The Cantons in the Romandy and the dual-language alpine Canton Valais can easily be combined with each other as well as with Canton Berne and the Bernese Oberland. The City of Geneva on the River Rhone is home to 150 world organisations including the United Nations: it is the most international town of Switzerland and played an important part in the reformation at the time of Calvin. Geneva is a very popular location for events requiring a large number of hotel beds, as well as trade fair and congress infrastructure. Geneva has the second largest airport of the country and is well-known for its Automobile Salon, political congresses and symposia. Geneva can be combined with the Aosta Valley in Italy, as well as the Savoy and Burgundy areas of France.
Lausanne, Olympic city surrounded by well-known wine areas such as „"Lavaux" and "La Côte". The holiday centres Montreux and Vevey lie picturesquely on Lake Geneva and offer first-class infrastructure and unique activities for incentives and meetings. Montreux is well-known for its annual Jazz Festival. Lausanne is 45 minutes and Montreux one hour away from the international Geneva airport. The Canton of Vaud offers unique activities for supporting programmes and incentives. Whether it be to the wintersport destinations Les Diablerets (1151m.a.s.l.) with the wonderful Glacier 3000 and Leysin (1398 m.a.s.l.), to Gruyère Castle with the famous cheese of the same name, a ride in the historic chocolate train with a visit to a chocolate factory, a cheese-maker or a vineyard, or to the salt or asphalt mines at Bex or Jura. Neuchâtel offers wine-cellar visits and the Grandson Castle is one of Executive Events' insider tips, along with the medieval town of Fribourg, which is only 40 kms from Berne Airport.
The Valais with its 47 mountains over 4,000 metres high offers a magnificent combination of incentives and circular tours combined with the Lake Geneva region, Central Switzerland, Ticini and Italy. The capital of this UNESCO Canton, Sion, has its own airfield with international connections, as well as the towering Bischofs mountain, and is in the heart of the largest wine-growing canton of Switzerland with over 5000 hectares. This sunny region offers world-renowned summer and winter destinations: Verbier (1500 m.a.s.l.), Crans-Montana (1500 m.a.s.l.) or Zermatt (1620 m.a.s.l.) at the foot of the well-known Matterhorn (4477m.a.s.l.), are accessible from Geneva in 2-3- hours and from Sion Airport in one hour. Historic Brig on the Simplon Route is the main town in Oberwallis with the Goms Valley and the border railway station to Italy, and is situated on the route of the slowest fast train in the world - the Glacier Express - which connects Zermattwith St. Moritz in Bundnerland on an 8-hour romantic Alpine railway journey.
