Basel connects Switzerland to the Atlantic by way of the River Rhine - located on the borders of the German Black Forest and the French Alsace.
Historic old town with very popular entertainment and cultural attractions. Basle is the home of the well-known Swiss pharmaceutical industry. It offers ideal pre-requisites for events, with its extensive infrastructure of hotels, conference and trade fair centres on the three-country corner, with its own airport. Basle boasts the oldest university in Switzerland, founded in 1460, and still today exudes much of the medieval. This charming city on the Rhine is well worth exploring.
